I was commissioned by Heavy Metal Magazine to design their latest cover announcing that Grant Morrison is taking over as editor-in-chief.
We did a print release and signing with Morrison and myself at my booth at San Diego Comic Con. So stoked!

Dark Horse, Gerard, Shaun and Becky were very cool and gave me permission to produce this as an official limited edition print. I added some new pieces to the background collage. Can you spot them?
Here's the cover I designed for Gerard Way, Shaun Simon and Becky Cloonan's comic book. Really stoked to have been a small part in the Killjoys universe. This was a ton of fun (and twice as much drawing) to do and a departure from my usual illustration style. I tried mixing my regular style with a new style I've been developing over the past year. Everyone on the book was geeked on what I turned in. Made my day. Hope I get to play in their sandbox some more.
If you haven't picked the comic book with my variant cover you can purchase it throughFORBIDDEN PLANET
Years ago, the Killjoys fought against the tyrannical megacorporation Better Living Industries, costing them their lives, save for one—the mysterious Girl. Today, the followers of the original Killjoys languish in the Desert while BLI systematically strips citizens of their individuality. As the fight for freedom fades, it’s left to the Girl to take up the mantle and bring down the fearsome BLI or else join the mindless ranks of Bat City!

I decided to expand on the monster series and add some movies that weren’t part of the canon of the better-known Universal Monsters. They are… but most people don’t remember this movie. Werewolf of London was the first American mainstream werewolf movie and was done six years before Lon Chaney Jr., slapped a bunch of hair all over his face and started barking at the moon in The Wolf Man. Jack Pierce did the make up for both movies (as well as a bunch more including Frankenstein and Bride Of…) so you know it was awesome! I really need to start doing pub quiz or something. All this useless knowledge…

Frida Kahlo was a defiant and radical surreal folk artist who ended up influencing so many people way past her death in 1954. If Frida were born later, she would have a bootleg copy of the Smiths first album playing in the background as she went on her path to self-discovery with her self portraits and torrid marriage to Diego Rivera. The bones listed in the poster call out the injuries she sustained when she was 18. Kahlo was riding in a bus that collided with a trolley car. She suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident, including a broken spinal column, a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a broken pelvis, eleven fractures in her right leg, a crushed and dislocated right foot, and a dislocated shoulder. Also, an iron handrail pierced her abdomen and her uterus, compromising her reproductive capacity. Thank you wikipedia!

Here's my Taxi Driver print from Spoke Art's Scorsese show last month in NYC at Bold Hype Gallery. The show was amazing. So much good art and rad people in one big room. You can see photos of the instillation and the night of the show. I've been invited into another HUGE group show with Spoke. Can't wait to start working on my piece. "O R you?"
So glad I was asked to participate because I really enjoyed doing this piece. I really geeked out on the time-consuming research to create the photo collage background. Nerdvana!
A buddy of mine who works with Robert De Niro, passed off my Taxi Driver print to his assistant and they ended up getting it framed and hung in De Niro's office. Wow... That was probably the most unexpected and coolest thing to happen to me. So stoked!

I really enjoyed working on this project because I just needed to try something different with my approach to rock posters. It was a challenge that sometimes had me wishing a jet engine would fall on my studio. But it came together in the end. I’m happy with the final piece. I know a few of my friends didn’t understand what I was trying to tell them until they saw the print. I actually learned a few things about anatomy that I forgot 20 years ago. Plus the research was the most fun.

This is a new piece of art created for the Blunt Fink show curated by Matt Dye of Blunt Graffix. The theme was to take an iconic pop culture movie and mix it with the style of "Big Daddy" Roth's - Rat Fink.
It was nice to show people I have more range than what they're used to seeing. Sometimes that creative box we comfortably create for ourselves needs to be renovated and built upon. Permeets? We don' need no stinkin' permeets!
It was fun to play with a few colors I barely ever use. It was also fun to "Fink Out" the Ghostbusters Logo. I was really honored to be invited into the show. Hope you guys dig it.

One of two pieces for a group show titled “The Royal Couple” which will be opening on January 6th 2012, at the Get Up Gallery - located inside of the Emergency Arts building in Downtown Las Vegas.
Check out the time-lapse video I made for the King Art print.
First time filming one of these. Experimenting with time-lapse. First time using final cut pro (shakes fist in the air like the Hulk). And uh yeah... it's over 6 minutes long.

It's a pretty damn big print and limited to only 50 pieces!!! These will NOT available on my site. The piece was originally used for a SFAC My Chemical Romance/ Lifetime poster. Those sold out years ago.
All proceeds go to help women with breast cancer who can't afford their medical expenses.

This was created as a special print for a gallery. I'm selling the remainder off my site.
The piece is based on the song of the same title by St. Vincent.
"I read the signs
I got all my stars aligned
My amulets, my charms
I set all my false alarms
So I'll be someone
Who won't be forgotten"
Basically it's about having lost someone you love and superstitiously hoping that you can get them back.
But we all know how that ends...
