Earlier in the year, I was commissioned by the Facebook poster collector group - WAFFLECON to design a poster for one of the movies in their movie marathon! I'm stoked to FINALLY show everyone! Plus I’ve been buried under a deadline so I haven’t had time to until now!.
I only have a few copies of the prints available!
In my last post, I touched down a bit on the drawing process.
So here’s a bit on the inking process.
Once I was happy with the pencil sketch - I scanned it at 600dpi grayscale. In #photoshop I messed with the levels and then printed it out on 8.5 x 11 2-ply bristol board. This saves me a TON of time and stress by not having to lightbox it!! I have a crappy b&w laser printer and by dumb luck, I can print onto bristol board. But no bigger than 8.5 x 11.
From there I will touch up the sketch with a pencil to make sure I can see the detail before inking.
I use a @winsorandnewton series 7 sable size 0 brush and @fabercastellusa S & M Pitt pens. Thanks again to #fabercastell for sending me a box of them! Send more #nudgenudge!
I use @alvindrafting circle templates @drphmartins Blackstar India ink and mix it with a few drops of @rotringofficial rapidograph ink.
Exciting…I know.
I don’t use white-out while inking. Just not a fan of how it yellows over time or worse - flakes away.
From there I’ll scan it 600dpi and save it as a bitmap tiff!
••ALL ORDERS are shipping today through the weekend! THANK YOU to everyone for their patience while I finished up a BIG project! Can’t wait to show you!
