Yesterday was the 88th Anniversary of the release of #THEMUMMY !!!!

Release date: December 22, 1932 (USA)

Next to the #FRANKENSTEIN movies (#BRIDEOFFRANKENSTEIN included) then #CREATUREFROMTHEBLACKLAGOON the MUMMY has got to be the best of the monster movies! For obvious reasons - it has #BorisKarloff in it!!!

It was also one of #UniversalStudios first original #horrormovies #Dracula Frankenstein and Bride was inspired by the famous novels. The #Wolfman character (and story) was also created by Universal.

Other useless trivia is I was hit up by @alexkurtzmanofficial back in 2015 to visit him at the Universal lot to discuss some murals and possible poster work. When I got there I was floored to see that they had all of my monster prints framed and hanging up all over the offices. It was crazy and surreal. Sadly nothing ever happened after the meeting (budget reasons) but I at least have that memory to reflect on. Alex went on to direct the Mummy reboot in 2017.

This print was originally done as a #gigposter for @queensofthestoneage back in 2013!!! I made a partner poster for their St Petersburg show with #ZitaJohann as #PrincessAncksunamun

This is the 5th #UniversalMonster and the 9th poster in the anatomical style.
